The Club has received, like evey other Audi enthusiast group, an e-mail from an agency who are working with Audi.

If you do a search using their name, rather than clicking on the link provided, you will find details of what looks very much like a bona fide agency with some history of working with large organisations.  This definitely looks legit.

URGENT ENQUIRY
Casting Boutique <hello@casting.boutique>

Hi there,

I hope you don't mind me emailing you.

I am a casting researcher working for a casting agency which is currently working with the car brand AUDI to create a series of adverts. We want to feature real life stories of people who have personal memories from being an Audi owner in our adverts, and so I wanted to get in touch with you to see whether you can help?

The adverts will tell a variety of stories from Audi owners - stories can be memories from the past or present - examples could be that you learn't to drive in an Audi, or have restored an Audi, or maybe you have memories of driving through Europe in an Audi or driving your newborn child home from the hospital for the first time in an Audi. You could be a collector of Vintage Audi's or maybe you are a racing driver in an Audi car. We are essentially looking for people who have those special, unique and heartwarming memories associated with owning their Audi and we would really love to tell those stories in our adverts.

I would be really appreciative if you could circulate this information to any UK Audi owners you know who could be interested in this opportunity. Age limit is 20-80 years old and this is a paid opportunity. Our flyer is attached.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who loves cars, has a great story to tell or memories to share about their love for Audi and would like to feature in a brand new advert for the brand.

We are hoping to film in early December 2017 so time is of the essence, therefore we'd love to hear from people as soon as possible. The team can be contacted on hello@casting.boutique

For those who are interested, please ask them to email the below:
Name, Mobile number, Email, A few lines about what their "AUDI STORY" is and any photos they think help illustrate their story.

Many thanks for your time,
Harpreet

  Costly Audi parts
Posted by: lyndon.dickens - 07-06-17, 10:17 PM - Forum: General Audi Chat - Replies (2)

Now I don't normally complain about the cost of parts for my car. Its an RS and I expect things to cost a bit if they need replacing. However, I'm just in the process of doing the front brakes. I have a spare set of refurb Discs already, so that's good, and I just got some Red Stuff pads at £185 which is fine. However I found out that the small metal clips that hold the pads in place were either broken or one actually missing (there are 4 in all). So I have had to replace them too.

So 4 thin metal spring clips and 4 pins to hold them in place - £53!

Now that really is taking the mick.

Just hope these pads do the trick now! At the moment the RS brakes worse than my SSangYong Tivoli (Which to be fair has awesome brakes for a small SUV no one has heard of)

On the plus side, I've just found out what the rattle in my passenger seat was that has been driving me mad for the past few months.

A4 needed for filming of TV show
Posted by: Paul Wadge - 06-06-17, 03:25 PM - Forum: General Audi Chat - Replies (2)

I have received a request from a TV production company who would like to borrow an A4 for a short amount of filming. I can't give any more detail at the moment but wanted to asses whether there is any interest from any of our members (with A4s of course).

Downloaded the latest Audi Driver with our article in it.

Looks very good. Plus Dave's Coupe quattro article too as a bonus!

So quattro is being killed off.

So it looks like quattro - the actual 4 wheel drive system, not the branding Audi use for everything 4 wheel drive these days - is being killed off. The introduction last year of the All Road with the new inline 4 wheel drive system sees it work like Haldex with drive being from the front unless slip is detected when the rear is brought into play.

Well I know Haldex is a good system and I'm sure this new version will be very good too, but those of us who like our 4 wheel drive permanent are going to be missing out on new models. Still it had a good run from 1981 to whenever the last of the real quattros are phased out.

Enjoy it while it lasts I guess....
